First of all I need to admit that I do not believe to people who claim that Purepower produces noise. My units are completely silent and I know other people who have completely silent Purepowers. I have no doubts that the p...
From what you describe I conclude that you have ground loops regardless of the PPs and the PP juts highlights the problem.
This may well be the case. I can't even remember the exact components I was using last year (...
When I have my old transformer 11:1 then I had the midbass horns calibrated so perfectly that you can tune a large symphonic orchestra by it sound. It was spectacularly stop-on setting with any type of music if played it n...

Which bring another interesting subject – will the PP2000 be able to handle properly grounds if there are two PP2000 handle in the same system. Bill what to run him SS monster from isolated PP2000. What I install my playback and will have essentials ...

I certainly have my hands full with those dams PP2000. As I least last night UPS lost one of my units I send to PurePower to repair. The shipment was insured but the saddest part is that it was the best sounding PP2000 of mine. So, I will not be get...
.
What do you know, today is December, that makes me to use the APS Purepower 2000 for one year. I would like to share some observations about the experiences.Since I posted my comments last year a few folks I know b...

I wonder if the Super Electricity Days hide another side in themselves. Remind you that the Super Electricity Days in the magnitude of sound quality are way beyond of what any devises including the PP2000 are able to furnish. I might explain the OTHE...
What was more concerning is today some 60 Hz hum also re-emerged in the system, sounding like a vibrating cell phone going off in the back of the room. It was interesting how it was sort of localizable, but the hum is annoying. A...
I do not remember seeing you provide details about this. Could you elaborate on how sound is affected by AC in your system?
Lx, I shut fown my playback in beginning of April, before move, and then got more or less o...

At this point I am absolutely confident the there is difference in Sound between the properly sounding PP2000 that I had before and the “new” version of PP2000. Let juts for sake of illustration I will call it PP2011. The PP2011 is better soundin...
I read their marketing spiel, their technical claims and their product literature, and whilst it is obvious the company makes many claims of utterly reliable performance and exemplary service, it is clear there are several doc...

It looks like “scooter” is correct we did have a few days of fantastic electricity. Although we live in 3-4 towns ways from each other but it look like we have some common tendencies. Today is the first day when electricity turned bad. No I do not ha...

I got really pissed today. After initial “welcoming” and informing that they are working on it I kept asking PurePower what they were trying or tested and never was able to get any sensible reply. For the last two day they are dogging my calls and s...
Another example of cannot-measure-it-but-can-hear-it?
Oh, yes, there is plenty of it in the audio electricity world. It is not that “cannot-measure”, everything might be measured the problem is that we have no idea wha...

Adrian, can you confirm whether you were using cable with shielding or without? Like you I had the buzzing go away when on battery or without PP2000 in system. It became dead silent. Then with PP2000 back in system there was buzzing. I went to all sh...
Romy said "When I had my magnetic and EMI probes running with open PP2000 cover then the probes showed me that I was in the middle of Chernobyl Black Forest. I think the PP3000 even more poisoning..."Now I begin to understan...
|
Yes, I assume the problem was the ground path through neutral, either because of a high impedance or because of an interaction of the PP2000 with the isolation transformer.
Ah, you have also an isolation transformer sit...
|
Exactly. Thus, it suggests a ground loop internal to the PP2000, doesn't it?
In my view it is highly unlikely as a definition of loop itself implies two contacts to ground and PP2000 has only one. I do not think t...
I think what they did was to put filters, maybe just a simple capacitor on the AC side to try and reduce the noise that the units inject back into the ac mains. Perhaps they were getting complaints that the units worsened the...
I have been intently following this thread for many years and this recent update is very encouraging. I hope that the Pure Power people can deliver on their promise and that the sonic outcome meets with your objecti...

FWIW, I had one of the original PP2000 units (made in Taiwan back in those days?). It certainly changed the sound - it seemed to add some 'sparkle' somehow. But I had an interesting experience with it...
You will have a noise if you have more than one references to ground. You can easy test it by lifting ground from PP2000 input. It would not be a good way to operate but as the hum-test it will do.
Yes, I tried this...

Yes, the consistency is good but I have to admit that with all flawless operation of PP2000 I still observed some variation of Sound at time. I intentionally did not bring this subject up as it looks as none of the users of PP regenerators at th...
BTW, there are reasonably simple tests to verify that your unit does or does not have the problem that my November units has, the testing procedures you will need to get from PurePower.
I will certainly look into thi...

I have not noticed this problem running three of the units. But each one plugged into a separate circuit created by one adeptResponse aR2 and one aR1 unit. Also, I am grounding only through one of the pp2000 units.Maybe they filter out the PP2000 noi...
My initial idea was to run just sensitive digital equipment and the preamp from the PP2000. But actually, there is no reason why I couldn't run everything (except the PC) from it.
I went over the very same s...

About this time last year I decided to stop using my PP2000. It has been sitting in my basement gathering dust all this time. I even put it up for sale last year but only received stupid offers for it, so decided to keep it.I've been having problems ...
Since - according to users - PP2000 seems to work better off battery alone, …..
I do not share this sentiment. If a specific unit is not broken then it shall be no difference between working off battery vs. working from ...

It was an interesting event today. I have a big air compressor home that got broken, so I borrowed a portable electric compressor from my neighbor. I plug it in outside the house and blew up the irrigation system, preparing it for winter. Then I bro...
